What is a Dental Implant?
It is best defined by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry as, "the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth. They allow you to live the way you want to – confidently eating, smiling, laughing, talking, kissing and enjoying all of your everyday activities without worrying about your teeth."
The Dental Implant Process
1 - Consultation and exam with Dr. Jobst
You will meet with Dr. Jobst and the Grand Lake Dental team where we will plan your case and answer any questions you may have.
2 - Implant Placement
The implant will be surgically placed in the jaw where the tissue will form around the implant. A temporary restoration may be placed on the implant during this stage of healing.
3 - Healing (3-4 weeks, each case varies)
The bone around the implant will grow and integrate with the implant surface.
4 - Your new tooth/teeth are created
At this appointment, we will take impressions of your implant and then send them to our dental lab to create your customized restoration.
5 - Permanent Crown
To finalize the process, we will permanently cement your unique, custom created, crown to the implant - leaving you to smile, eat, and chew as you would with natural teeth.
