Root Canal in Grove, OK

Root Canal

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. If the infection is caught early enough, the procedure is generally painless and can be completed in one visit.

Root Canal Treatment

Once a tooth has had a root canal, the access hole made during the procedure has to be filled. If the hole is small enough, this can be done with a white bonded filling. If a large portion of the tooth is missing, the tooth needs to be secured with a porcelain crown or “cap”. Dr. Jobst has advanced training in root canal therapy and restorative procedures to where everything can be completed all in one location. If you have any questions about root canals, please contact our office for more information.

There are many reasons why teeth need to be removed, and thanks to Dr. Jobst’s extensive training he is highly skilled in the removal of unwanted teeth. Although not mandatory IV sedation is recommended. It is our goal at Grand Lake Dental that your extraction be as simple and painless as possible.

Some of the common reasons for extractions:

The tooth is simply not repairable, or may be impractical to repair under the circumstances. This includes teeth that are decayed below the gumline, or teeth that have lost too much bone due to gum disease.

Removal of the tooth may be a matter of health. This is the case in decision to remove wisdom teeth, teeth associated with cysts or infections, or teeth that would otherwise compromise the patient’s oral health if left in place. If you have any questions about extractions, please contact our office for more information.
